We describe the crystal B(infty), the free object in the category of highest weight crystals, using a number of different combinatorial models. We will also discuss what is known about the *-involution, a bijection that arises from the corresponding quantum group that is not a crystal isomorphism, the relationships between the models, and the natural properties of each model. We conclude with a number of questions and open problems.
