In this talk, we prove that the 2D Moffatt's magnetic relaxation equation (MRE) under a radial homogeneity condition admits a unique solution in $W^{2, 1}$. We further extend this result to the case where the initial current is a finite Borel measure, and we prove the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution. Then, we introduce the ongoing work on the dynamics of atomic current.
