The quantum wreath product is a simultaneous construction which emcompasses the Ariki-Koike algebras, variants of the affine Hecke algebras, Vigneras' pro-p Iwahori-Hecke algebras, as well as certain non-trivial deformation of group algebras of wreath products that are not even Coxeter groups. I'll speak on a unified approach to the Schur-Weyl duality of certain quantum wreath products, and its applications to (1) identifying the imaginary strata of affine KLR algebras, (2) the Ginzburg-Guay-Opdam-Rouquier conjecture on constructing highest weight 1-covers, (3) the computation of pro-p Iwahori component of Gelfand-Graev representation for metaplectic covers, and (4) a new limit construction of quantum groups for quantum wreath products.
